Basic Rules:
- Absolutely NO foul lanugage!

- calculator (honors chem)

Activity: Rollercoaster Challenge
Challenge #1: Jumping Marbles
Design a ramp for a marble to travel on that will allow the marble to jump the greatest distance possible to land in a cup.
Constraints:
- Your marble must complete the ramp before ‘jumping off’.
- You may not use human force to get your marble started on the ramp.
- The distance of the jump is measured when the marble leaves the ramp (from the end of the ramp to the cup).
- Your marble must land in a cup.
- You can only use 1 track
Challenge #2: Design a Roller Coaster
Design a roller coaster for a marble to travel (without falling off) which has at least one complete verticle loop. The more loops the better.
Constraints:
- Your marble must complete the ramp while staying on the track.
- You may not use human force to get your marble started on the track.
- You need to ahve one complete vertical loop. (The record is 6)
- Each group member must participate in the design, construction and operation of the roller coaster.
- You must use 2 tracks.
HW: Roller Coaster Write Up due Tues (8/29)
Answer the following questions. (1 page total)
- What was your original design? What was your modified design?
- What did you learn from other groups?
- What was easy? What did you find challenging?
Bring 3 ring binder and composition notebook to class.
