Preamble #28: (1) How is the charge of an ion related to the column it is located in? (2) When ions lose or gain electrons, what happens to them?

*Electron Energy Diagrams:  For the 1st 18 elements, fill in the electrons into the electron energy  diagrams.  Please also include the name of the element, symbol, and charge of the ion.

*Periodic Table Coloring Activity:

  1. Color the columns of the first periodic table
  2. Color all the metals one color and the nonmetals another color
